In reply to your letter of the 8th Instant, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of Earl Grey, that under the circumstances therein brought under the consideration of this Board, My Lords will not object to the save from Funds applicable to incidental Charges of the Colonial Government of Hong Kong, of a sum equal to the Amount of Half Salary which according to the Regulations of the Colonial Service would have been payable to Doctor Morison as Colonial Surgeon at Hong Kong.
