Almost anything can be accomplished by a “

"I must-will-get back my health!"

The man who says this to him- self-really meaning it-is thereby helping and hastening his own recovery — so » much does will-power influence bodily processes...

But in nerve weakness, unfor tunately the will-power itself is enteebled: the patient is too limp and listless to make the necessary effort of volition; and it is here eliat Sanatogen comes to his aid.

"

For Sanatogen," writes a physician in the Medical Press and Circular, “ants as a powerful nervine tonic, supplying sthaulas to the higher centres of the brain and spinal cord, and exciting the will-power to yigrirons. action."

As another physician (Dr. Claude Wheeler) pats it: "Even the mental faculties share in the revivifying infpence of Sanatogen, and there is rapid restora- tion of the ability to plan and execute.”

That is why all who are attacked by.. such symptoms should promptly counter- act them by invigorating the brain and nervous system with a course of Sanatogen.

THE DEAREST STAMP IN

DRÀMĄ AT AN AUCTION. Philatelists have had a field day-or rather wveral field days recently. The purchase at the Hotol Drouet, Paris, of a one cent British Guiana 1856 stamp for the amazing sum of 300,000 francs- AU which, with commissions and tates, should really be reckoned as 350,000 francs-was,

He refused the" for tune of his father on what were representixi to a highly moral grounds. But he was not by any means pouT . He ac- quired one of the largest and most valuable collections in the work. When he died it was found that he had bequeathed there treasures to the Berlin museum, Thie State placed them under sequestration. It is quid that an offer of fifteen million franes was recently refused.

The British Guians, stamp is believed to be unique. M. Fermgi himself paid very little in 1878; when it was sold in Lewlon. There has been a search for ether specynieus, and more «than suce forgeries have been perpetrated. But so far as is known the Ferrari stamp is the only one of its kind that exists.

It was bought by Mr. H. Griebert, of London.

The competition was fierce, and the meone in the Hotel Dronet was exceedingly dramatic When the stap was put up for auction a'sudden silence fell on the assembly. All the best known collectors were gathered together in this room behind the boulevards. At first the bidding was low. So important was the occasion, so precious the "tiny object whose destination was being decided, that the Prefect of Police M. Leullier, was present in person. When, during the marse of the contest, he same in, he was recognised and there was a moment's pana. Then the bidders set tled down in good earnest. M. Dronier, & well-known Frezeli collector, uni a Swiss merchant were the principal antagonists of Mr. Grisbert. The stamp itself ander its protecting -cover of transparent paper is wat in perfect condition. It certainly does not appear to be very impressive except for the "philate, list. One day in January of last your the following notier appeared in the adver- tisement colutans of a Vienna paper :--

The advertisement led to a meeting be- tween Frau Rosa Rosenbauma, a wealthy widow, and the Marquis Edward Maffei, an old gentleman of 69, with a family tree six pages long, who had once held, an estate and a commission in a cavalry regiment,. but since the war had fallen on evil times, In return for Fran Rosenbaum's promise to pay him over 20,000 kmaen (then about (152), he agreed to make the lady the Marchioness Maffei They were duly married and the Marquis received 50,000 kroun, but that was apparently as far as the mutter gat, for on April 26th of this year the Marquis appeared before the magistrates to claim the balance of his marriage money.

The proceedings aroused a good deal of amusement' in court. To start with, the magistrate remarked that 40,000 "kronen |"(now about 248.) was a rather small amount to go to low about. The marquis's counsel,
