It is said under the ship subsidy plan. before President Harding, the steamers Beviathan, George Washington, Amerika and Pruces Matoke, all former German ships, will be sold to one of three or four recently organized American trans-Atlan- tie companies to provide steamship sar vice to compete with foreign lines. The Shipping Board awarded the contract for reconditioning the liner Leviathan to the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company.
