outly with a badly damaged bow collid- ed with the Japanese steamer Kyodo Maru 16, owned by the Awa Eyedo Kisen Kaisha, which arrived at Dairen from Tsingtav, vid Wolhaiwei, og the 22nd January, with her bows badly damaged. The Japanese steamer reports that the collision happened off the Shantung Pro atur 4 montory at 3 am, on the 19th January, and that nine of her crew wore drowned or killed. The ext Chapaka will go into dry dock at the Kiangnan Dock and Engineering Works for repairs which will take about three weeks to complete. In fues. 7 the meantime, her Hongkong and Manila
