A week ago placards in the town of
T Ithaca, New York State, announced a lecture on the teachings of Freud by the intimate friend famous psychologist's and pupil, Dr. Vosberg, of Vienna' Such an intellectual treat was an im mense attraction, and when the lecturer, a tall, dark bearded man, speaking in broken English rose to address the as sembly in the City Hall, after introduc. of the University tion by a member Faculty, the room wag packed to the doors with a brilliant audience, which included several professors and their wives. Vosberg, warming to his subject, quickly plunged into a discussion of the interpretation of dreams.
"A dreamer does know what he dreams," he remarked profoundly, but he does not kraw what he knows and therefore believes what he does not know. The erudition display ed by the lecturer in this and other re- marks made a deep impression, and be was loadly cheered and was congratulat ed at the end of hit discourse by many of his audience..
Vasberg had such a success that the committee of practical jokers who had arranged the affair became panic-stricken, and dared not reveal the identity of "the doctor. It was not until picture post- cards showing Vosberg with and without bis heard and spectacles appeared in a rhop in the town that the hoax stood revealed-Times.

Beneath her was fixed a pail of red-hot coal or which the herbs were scattered.. As the fumes of the burning weeds veiled the victim the three neighbours crooned the prescribed exortinn.
The louder the woman shrieked the louder they sang, and after the process bad been continuel long enough to prove effective, in their opinion, they ran away, believing that the devil would run out of the woman after them. She, however, continued to shriek Her cries were heard by a man, who released her.-Times.
