Europeans.
Should Your Lordship
be pleased to direct that
this description
of Criminals
be not sent out of the Colony,
then I would venture to ask
whether Your Lordship
would consider the ends of
Justice satisfied by
commuting the sentence passed on James John Burke to imprisonment
for 15 years, which in this climate would be a
severe
punishment
I think
could reasonably be inflicted,
and I am
not
aware of any other that could be
substituted.
