Pandemonium broke out at a meeting of the British Empire Union in Central Hall. Westminster, on October 31st.

Hand-to-band fights were general, and a strong force of police was called in to clear the building.

The few hundred members of the British Empire Union who remained in the hall gathered round the platform and were addressed by Sir Ernest Wild, who de clared that the union was out to fight Bolshevism.

The opposition to the meeting was evi- dently organised, because tumultuaas shouting began as soon as Sir Ernest Wild, who presided, rose to address the audience. The meeting, the purpose of which had been to introduce Lord Derby as the new president of the union, was confined to ticket-holders, but the noisy. party was strongly massed in the gallery. Many of them put on green and white rosettes and streamers after taking their places.
