I have the honor to announce to Your Excellency the arrival of the British Squadron under my command at your port and I have the gratification to inform Your Excellency that the Fleet of Shap-ng-tsai, common enemy, and the enemy of all mankind, has been annihilated at Chokeum. My illustrious Colleague "Wong", Commander of the Forces by sea and land will inform His Excellency The Illustrious Ito, Governor General of Hainan and Eleven Provinces.
