The Homeric i now at Danzig, where ahe was built at the Schichau yard. She was launched December 17th, 1913, and. the hull was partly fitted with machinery when the war began. Work of comple tion of the ship has been in progress for the past year, and she is practically com pleted. It is probable that she will make. a few voyages between Liverpool and New York but it is planned to put ber on the run to Soitthampton, later with the Olympic.
The Homeric is one of the six largest ocean liners, being 35,000 tons register. She is 775 feet long and as feet wide. She has triple expansion engines of 28,000 horse power, and is expected to develop twenty knot speed. Her maxi mnum passenger capacity will bo, 2,700, with 498 in first cabin, 470 in second Cabin, and the remainder in third. Sho will carry a crew of 764.
The Homeric is elaborately fitted with large and handsome public rooms, finish ed in the latest style of decoration-She. has a very large lounge. A first cabin dining saloon done in white and gold, with seating capacity for 400-a verandah exic, a handsome music room, and ibrary and glass-enclosed promenadea. A special feature will be a children's Froom equipped with playthings
