All the first division matches were evenly contested on Saturday and the low scoring proves that the teams are evenly matched.

The Batlors won on their merits and took advantage in the opening stages of a little misunderstanding of the Wilts defence. Their second goal was the out- come of some clever play by the whole front line and would have severely tested any defence. The Wilts forwards played a rushing game but they found a sure defence against them and retired de feated,
