The stations will also be designed to supply wireless communication if future developments in wireless telephony remove what is re garded as present na the prohibitive cost of a telephone chain.
The total cost to the British" "Govern-" ment of completing the wireless tele- graph chain will be £2,000,000, of which £800,000 will be included"in" next year's Estimates. The construction of the chain Was begun bélore the war and the British and Egyptian stations bave already been established. It is proposed that on the Australian route there should be other stations at Karachi, Singapore,. Perth and Sydney, and on the South, African route statiopa in Kenya Colony and at Cape Town.
