The P. & 0. Co.'s 5.8. Khira left Singa- port for this port on the 6th inst., at p.m., and is due here on the 11th inst., al about 10 am.

SHIPPING NOTES..

The Kiangnan Deck and Engineering Works, Shanghai have received orders from Japanese merchants for the build- ing of two vessols. for the Chungking service.

An additional new dry dock is shortly to be built for the Kiangnan Dock and Enginnering Works, Shanghai on the cast side of the present one. The land on which the Naval Munitions Stores now stand, it is understood, is being bought by the Dock Co., as B site:
