I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 3rd instant, (with its enclosure herewith returned), requiring my opinions as to whether it would be proper that I, in my official capacity, should take up the case of the shareholders of the club, suggested by them.

It was His Excellency the Governor's desire that I might offer any further suggestions that might occur to me in reference to the suit, to enable Earl Grey fully to comprehend the merits of this case.
