Mr. William Friese Greene, whose sud- den death at the Connaught Rooms, after addressing a meeting on the kinwuato graph industry, is reported in the Daily News, had a life history" full of tragic romance. To him, sa the inventor of the kinematograph machine, is due the credit of building up the vast kisema amuse ment industry, in which so many fortunes have been made. Mr. Friese Greeno led in all inventive progress connected with cinematography. Ho was abead of Edi- son by three years.
