CHANGES IN COMMAND OF. "EMPRESS" LINERS.

As a result of the addition of two big passenger boats-the Empress of Canada and Empress of China-to the present C.P.O.S. Pacific Beet. some changes in the commands have been announced.

On arrival at Yokohama of the Em- press of Japan, Capt. Hopcraft disem. barked and the command was taken by Capt. Lovegrove. D.S.O., RNR, who bas bern Chief Officer on this boat for some years and for a couple of voyages as Staff Captain of the Empress of Kuania.

Capt. Hoperaft was to command the Empress of Russia from Yokohama and Capt. Robinson was to travel on the same boat to Vancouver, en roule to England, to take charge of the new liner.

Cant. Hoskin, commander of the Monteagle, has been promoted to the com- mand of the Empress of China.
