Shin chi leang states, that he is a native of the Districts of Hiany thaw, aged 45 years. His grandfather and grandmother, and both his parents are dead, and he has no brother, older or younger, than himself.
He is married to a woman of the surname of Lu, by whom he has one son. He has heretofore been in trade at Macao. The Portuguese Governor (head of soldiers), Amaral, was savagely tyrannical in his conduct; making a "horse road" without the San pa gater, he levelled and destroyed all the graves thereabout; from the first he had numbered every chop in Macao with barbarian characters, and had extorted money from them; he also tried to extort money from the different ships and boats, for his use.
