I am directed to transmit to you the Copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong reporting that he had granted twelve months leave of absence to the Honble W. T. Bridges Chief of the Works and to proceed to this Country for the recovery of his health.
And as it appears from a further despatch from Governor Bonham that a charge has been preferred against this officer for L155. for work said to have been performed for the Govt.
