1.That the Directors of the HONGKONG

AND SHANGHAI BANKING CORPORA TION be and they are hereby re- quested and authorised by and ca behalf of the shareholders of the Company to take the steps neces sary for the introduction of an Ordinance into the Legislativo Council of the Colony of Hongkong and for the enactment of the same by the Governor of Hongkong with the advice and consent of the Legisla tive Council thereof to affect the amendments necessary to the Ordi nances under which the Company is incorporated and carrying on busi ness so as to allow of the capital of the Company being from time to time increased from 20 millions of dollars the present authorised capi tal of the Company to 50 millods of follars
