I had the honor to enclose
to your Lordship in despatch No.
of the 21st June last the translation of a Placard posted at Canton, which
remarked in angry terms upon
the conduct of Senhor Amaral the Governor of Macao, as also one of a Proclamation
issued by him highly approving of the removal from Macao of certain merchants in consequence of the acts of the Governor which had been stigmatised by the Chinese as tyrannical
