PIRACY ON YANGTSZE.
The steamer Dali-tuen, (owned by Mac Kenzie & Co.), which ptice between Wan- shien and Chungking, on the Upper Yaugtaze, was attacked last week by band of pirates while lying about to advices from Capt. . T. Olsen, and after miles below Chungking, according to an exchange of shots, escaped, by drop- ping her anchor with some 30 fathoms of the quick start a crankshaft was split, Chain, and slipping down the river. In and the vessel was forced to limp into Chungking on one engine. Repairs will be made, at the latter port..
N.Y.K. DECLINES THE "CAP. FINISTERRE."
NAVAL AUTHORITIES WILL TAKE IT AS HOSPITAL SHIP.
"
The Cap Finisterre, one of the ex-Ger man merchant vessels allotted to Japan by the Allies aa part of her share of the War spoils, will be handed over by the Japanese Government to the Naval authorities, who, it is stated, will prob ably use her as a Hospital ship in casa of emergency.
The vessel was brought from London to Japan by the Nippon Yusen Kaisha, who had hoped to place her on the American service, but the Company has abandoned this idea on economic grounds.
The vessel was inspected on February 15th by some twenty, naval officers from Yokosuka Naval Station and the Tokyo Naval Office, and it was decided that the | liner be taken to Yokosuka.
The vessel has been moored alongside the new pier for a fortnight. Japan Gatelte.
