MEN OF FIAT COMPANY REALIZE THEIR ERROR.
The managing-director of the Fiat Co., London, writes to the Times:-
In connection with the Italian engineer. ing dispute, which attracted so much atten- tion in the Press only a few weeks ago, it may be claimed that "all is well which enda well."
It will be remembered that as the re sult of the Socialist claims of the men, Mr. Agnelli, the chairman of the board of directors of the Fiat Company, offered to sell the whole of the Fiat works to the workmen, so that they could run this establishment on a co-operative basis. The offer was refused, and Mr. Agnelli severed his connection with the firm he and helped to establish and to build up to its present important position, stating that it was impossible to carry on any. business whilst a spirit of animosity existed between workers and directors.
The men soon realised the mistake they had made, for 'an important delegation waited on their former chief and asked him to return to the head of the Fixt Company The same unanimous request having been made at a meeting of the shareholders Mr. Agnelli consented again to take up the reins and is once more chairman of the board of the Fiat Com- pany, Mr.Fornaca, chief engineer, and also one of the founders of the big Fint Company, has resumed his position as director. By this arrangement all the old beads of the Fint concern are back in their original positions:

Three Lancashire ex-officers, Captain Hall, Lieut. S. Reginald Smith, and Sub- Lieut. L. Marsden Smith, who propose to explore Central Brazil, have sailed from London by the Booth liner Ansel for South America.
Captain Hall, in conversation with the Day Chronicle correspondent, aaid that the party would make their headquarters at Manaos, a big town, 090 miles up the Amazon. "Little is known of the country we are going to explore." he said," ex- cept that north of the Rio Negro there. are nine cannibal tribes, and to the south seven."

Henceforth not only may any man who so desires be tried by a jury of men bat any woman may be tried by a jury of women.
