As we consider that the equalization of dividend fund with Tis. 500,000 at credit and cotton fluctuation fund with Tis, 130.000 are already sufficiently strang, "we propose to add Tls. 250,000 to reserve, fuad, making it Tls, 350,000, thus bringing our total reserves to Tls. 1,000,000.
The proposals to write off pinat and machinery Tls. 83,000 and buildings Tla. 20,000 are slightly more than last year. The mount of T. 500 to be written of furniture calls for no comment. As we have recently made some additions to our buildings, it will be necessary for us to provide more for depreciation next

The bonus of Tis. 35,000 to the staff at the mills has been well earned and will, I am sure, be greatly appreciated.
Our contingency against the increasing number of employés who qualify, for the Chinese superannuation fund, inaugurated last year, will be covered by the provision of Tis. 10,000.
The proposed donation of Tis. 10,000 to war funds can be sent to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs for disposal, probably to the King's Fund for Disabled Soldiers and Sailors."
BUSINESS DURING THE YEAR.
For the first few months of 1990, de. mand for our mill products was brisk at high prices, and we were able to mam facture very profitably owing to compara-
tively cheap cotton. We were fortunate in securing business to fill our order books to June, ns in the Inte Spring the inevit able reaction, that was foreshadowed at our meeting lost year, began to be felt and prices declined rapidly. I am pleased to say that all our yarn dealers honoured their contracts, and we suffered no losses in this connection.
In cloth, however, the handsome profits' we were making in the earlier part of the year were very seriously depleted by losses sustained owing to some defaulting dealers. In view of the serious crista through which the piece goods trade in China is now passing, we considered it advisable to deal drastically with stocks of cloth in our accounts, and we trust.we have provided for the worst.

Deep Water Bay course is exceedingly popular and, I should imagine, must pay, in which case it is very necessary to keep the course in good condition. The teer aad greens are" in a 'very bad state just now, and unless something is done very soon to nurse them back it will be too late. Then there will be the unnecessary expense of re-türling, both teen and greens. It should be a very easy matter obtain good soil and sand from the vicinity of the course, and top dress the tees and greens with a mixture of both.
