CALCUTTA'S NEW DOCK.
The Duke of Connaught recently kid the commemoration stone on the site of the new King George Dock, situated in the Garden Reach, five miles below Howrah Bridge. The dock will berth 35 ships. The water area covers 100 acres and the quay wall is 25,000 feet. It is expected that 10,000 men will be continu. ously engaged on the work. for at least six years.
