There should be a penalty when the declarer leads out of the wrong hand. In the American code, if the player touches or names any eards in demmy, he must play one of them. The penalties for re- rokes might well be revised. While it may be impossible to discriminate be tween a revoke that benefits the offender and one that can do him no possible good, the present, pensity of 150 points a trick is altogether out of proportion to the mistake. Now, a' player may have a grand slam, but if he is careless on the twelfth trick and revokes, he not only scores no- thing at all towards game, but also his adversaries score against him. Surely it would be possible, while allowing a penalty for the revoke, to allow the de clarer to score the tricks he has made, if those tricks were made prior to the re voke I believe that legislation on the lines I have briefly indicated would be of enormous benefit to the vast army of Auction-Bridge players.
