General Remarks

Recovery of Arrears of Land Rent of 1843/4/5/6 during the year 1846/7, the large Receipts of Licenses during 1846/7, and the Receipt for the Opium Tariff, which monopoly was abolished on the 12th August 1847.

Revenue of these years are so much in excess. The principal Cause being over the years 1848 to 1850, to which may be added that during the latter years considerable loss of Rent has been incurred by the remission of Rates, the gradual reductions of the Establishments.
