The total Civil Services, exclusive of Works and Buildings, esti-mated for in the similar statements received from the Governor for 1849, amounted to £39,219 - they amount in the present documents to only £34,857.
But as accounts have since been received of the abolition of the Officer of Registrar General and Assist-ant Harbour Master with a saving of £850, the Civil Services, exclusive Works and Buildings, are reduced to £34,007, making a total saving of £5,212 since the preparation of the Governor's Estimates for 1849.
