N.Y.K. VESSEL WRECKED AT YAP.

The N.Y.K. passenger steamer Kokura Han, ran aground on a reef off the Island of Yap, no November 10th and is total lewe, but putstugers, grew and mail vero The official report anys that the ved. Kokum Mara struck a reef outside the harbour at the Island of Yap on the after- noon of November 10th. A large hole was made in the stern, which flooded hatches" Nos. 2, 3 and 4 and the engine room. The steamer listed heavily and was abandoned. The Katsuriki Maru, a naval stormer stationed at a nearby island, responded to ber call for assistance and arrived the following day,

Nine first-class, 18 second-class and 33 steerage passengers, and the mail were taken off the steamer. All persons are now wall provided for The Matsuyama Afars, which was bound for Yokohama, also went to the hssistance of the wrecked vessel. She had ample stores on board and left the shipwrecked passengers and crew with sufficient supplies to provide for them till they can be brought to Japan.
