The Governmens Gasulle gives the details of the sale of the old Post Office and Supleme Court Buildings, to be | held on Monday, December 16th. The whole lot bas an area of about 35,120, square feet the annual rent is to be $4,376 and the upset price is fixed at 81,000,000, which works out at $50 per square feet.
The conditions provide that the pur chaser of the lot shall within three days of the date of the sale pay into the Colonial Treasuryva sum of $250,000, and within. thres, months the balance of the premium at which the lot has been purchased.
The purchaser is required to demolishi within a period of eight months the build. ings at present standing on the site, and before the expiration of 38 calendar months from the date of the sale he must build and finish, ft for occupative, one or more buildings, and shall spend thereon a am of not leas than $579,000 in rateable improvements.
Possession of that portion of the lot erly occupied by Mesara Watkins & Co. will not be given to the purchaser until three months after the date of sale, but the cents payable to Government by the prosent chants will be handed over to the purchaser commencing from date of sale.
