Colonial Office Victorian,

Hongkong, 28th September, 1867

I am directed by His Excellency the Governor to inform you that the undermentioned changes will take place in your Department after the expiration of the present month.

The Office hitherto held by Mr Inman, under the denomination of Clerk of Registry and Keeper of Records is to be abolished, and the duties appertaining thereunto, which are of a comparatively light nature, are to be performed by Mr Power, with an increase to his salary of £50 per annum.

As this arrangement will add to the duties of your second clerk, Mr Starrison, his salary will be increased £25 per annum.

Chas. Helser: Cleverly, Acting Surveyor General.
