From the enclosed copy of a letter from Mr. Frew, who ́is od-- ministering our charity there, you will form some idea of the volume of suffering and distress in that distracted part of Asia. Before the now war began, there were over 200,000 people congregated beyond the Greek Zong suffering from dire privation; the mortality among women and children was reported to us as appalling. We sent through the Foreign Office whatever help was possible. But we rely on funds from the Moslems of India and other friends of humanity to carry on the work of reljni, among these stricken people
