An interesting revelation is made in the Arxt volume of Sir Julian Corbott's Official History dealing with the naval operations during the war, with reference to the loser C of thả chren cruises, dönükir, Grevy, and 3 Hugue in September, 1914, with a loss of nearly 1,400 lives. A good deal of mystery has surrounded this triple disaster, but the whole facts are now revealed for the first time. The normal disposition of this particular squadron, under Rear-Admiral H. Christian, which the Admiralty sought to maintain was three cruisers of the "Bacchante class for the Dogger area, and
