"I have the honor to acknowledge the
receipt of your Lordship's Despatch No. 1292 of February last, with its enclosures, relative to a Bill of Costs charged by the Acting Crown Solicitor at Hong Kong in a suit instituted by the Crown against Captain Lartins, for the illegal Conveyance of Letters in H.M.
I caused the Bill of Costs, originally
amounting to $458.49, to be taxed by the
proper Officer of the Court, who has seen
fit to reduce it to $374.49, which being deducted from
the amount of the Judgment against Captain Lartimus paid to Mr Parker, leaves $105.51 to
The Right Honorable, The Earl Grey,
&c. &c. &c.
