MARRIED MEN DEFEAT THE BACHELORS.

The members of the Hongkong Ca engaged in a whole day match yesterday, the Married men being opposed to the Bachelors. The Married men wäre much the stronger team, and had no difficulty in winning, in spite of the fact that T. E. Peron and one or two others did not turn out.

It was only the very steady and consist- ent bowling of Middlemas that prevented the Married men from making a big score. The free methods of Davies, Olliver and Gray helped materially in piling up the score mainly at the expense of Bird, Middlemas, keeping a fine length, cap- ired sight wickets at a fraction over 7 runs aplece..

The Bachelors fared badly be the bands of Davies and Edwards, only Wood and Murray making a decent show. Their innings realised 95 runs and they had to follow on. In their second essay they, fared even worse, for this time Edwards found his spot and was very destructive. They scored 82 runs, leaving the Married men five runs to make to win, which feat was easily achieved by Tavlor and Button. The Married men won by ten wickets. Ecores:-
