Three female patients at the Ishimarn Lunatic Asylum at Kumanoda-mura Osaka-fu, suddenly disappeared one ever ing. Asearch was instituted for the missing lunatics, as soon sa the fact became known, and the following day the young est of the three women, Yoshiwara Sote, was discovered by a search party loitering about ip a wood in the vicinity in com pany with Suzuki Telkichi, former an attendant employed at the hospital. They were immediately taken to the asylum. It appears that Suzuki Teskichi was die missad from his post at the asylum on account of misbehaviour some time ago and was working in Osaka and Kobe. During his service at the asylum he he came friendly with the female lunatic, with whom he was found and who is described as a beautiful woman 94 years old, and the temptation to take her out of the asylum secretly was so keen up bim that he conceived the daring sobotere of stealing ber out of confinement under cover of darkness. He stole into the room on the night in question, with that object, when two other inmates were aroused from their sleep, and they implored him to take them out of the asylum too. He complied and took them into a mountain, where be managed to leave the two women to take care of themselves. He and his woman friend Boon lost their way, and were wandering about
in the wood when they wore discovered. As to the two other women, one was discovered and taken back to the asylum but the other was not found.
