It is declared that an American baby, placed Leside a Chinese baby and a French baby. will instantly be on intimate terms with them. All three will be able to under- stand the sounds which comprise the aniversal baby's vocabulary
There are at least four fundamental sounds used by babies all over the world. They express comfort, discomfort, pain, and hanger. These are said to be Absolately intuitive with babies. Other sounds are added to this beginning as the baby has need for them. The point is emphasised that nobody has ever given the baby instruction in making the sounds, nor in using the same sounds always to express the same ideas. Professor Richard Garner, the famous student of monkey life; declares that animals have sounds to espress” nightongs, just, na human babies have, but the sounds, of course, are not the same as those used by the babies. Airship Station
An official of the Air Ministry when questioned on the matter stated that nothing could be said on be matter at present. From inquires made in inter- ested circles in London, it was stated that the news did not come as a surprise. The financial side of the question, of courts, presented the most difficulty, but it was thought that the Government would so its way to meet the company who proposed to carry out the scheme. At any rate nothing could be attempted to inaugurate the service before next stimmer, so that the negotiations would have plenty of time to mature, providad they are not strangled with too much red tape in the meantime. There was overy reason to expect that if the scheme proved success the Government would ultimate lebe willing to allow the majority of their existing rigid airshipa to be take over for the purpose of establishing in commercial Air Service which would not Decessarily be confined to this country.
