stores issued from the Ordnance Department, to the expenses of Package, Conveyance, Warthonsing and other Incidental Expenses;
Cover and ... as it probably will be found upon inquiring, that the Timber in question may have been purchased in the Colony, and did not subject the Ordnance to any ... of the expenses denominated mentioned in Circulars, I do not consider that the charge of £101.8.3 can be properly brought under those authorities, and therefore submit that the claim should be either withdrawn in full, or such portion only paid, upon which the Ordnance Department can show actual outlay.
With reference to the remark that no objection was raised to another claim for £89.3.2, I beg to observe that it was for actual stores, arms, and ammunition, supplied to the Colonial Gun boat, as well as to the Police Force, upon which the charge for Departmental Expenses could necessarily be legitimate and reasonable.
