A story? which reoslia the happinni moments of Ballantyne, Bijene Raid, or Robert Louis Stevenson, was narrated od November 3rd, in the prossia atmosphere of the Law Courte. It concerns the amazing adventures of sight. British officers-one commander of the Royal Navy and seven soldiars-who last year escaped from captivity in Turkey, march ed for three weeks through a hostile coun try to the poase spent a week in hiding to recover from their privations, and then ran off with a Turkish tugboat to Cyprus. For close upon a year they had explored avery likely avenue of escape from their 'prison camp, and "repeated 'failures to regain their liberty, served merely to harden their determination in what must have appeared, even to auch intrepid 'spirits, a forlorn hope. Event ually they succeeded in breaking camp," and then followed in dogged battle | against hunger and thirst, with brigands and with cat-threats, which as an expres- sion of indomitable pluck, makes da fine a story as any which the Great War-pro- duced.
Their instinct led them to the coast, where salvation awaited them in, the unromantic hull of a Turkish Govern». ment tug. It was moored some distaned from the shore, and there was no boat available, but the gallant little band were not to be baulked of liberty by 300 yards of water. Some of the party swam ont to the tug, “cht out” the dinghy astern: of her, embarked their comrades, and towed the tug out to sen before they rais- ed team in the boilers.
This story was told in the Prize Court before the new President of the Admiral ly Division, Sir Henry Duke,, whò pro- nounced a decree condemining the vessel and its, cargo as prize.
