The faal rice barvest has been all got in now and is a fairly good one, so the loss of the earlier harvest is not such a serious matter as it might have been. The price of the best rice is about 86.50- per catty.

Poth students on strike and others held a joint parade yesterday, as a pro test against Japanese action at Focchow. The students on strike headed the pro- corsion. It seemed as first that the parade was only a peaceful demon- stration, but at the bund the students who had not gone on strike but took part in the parade suddenly left, the proces sion and refused to join in the noisy demonstration against the big companies.
