In accordance with Your Lordship's Despatch No. C of 17th February, 1848, I have the honour to forward for Your Lordship's information, copy of a letter from the Colonial Treasurer, from which, with its accompanying Enclosures, Your Lordship will be made acquainted with the state of the financial affairs of the Colony as things existed on the first of the present month, the commencement of the new financial year.
