I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No. 182 of the 22nd ultimo, enclosing a communication from Lieut: Colonel Eyre, Royal Artillery, dated the 21st ultimo, addressed to Major General Staveley, C.B., relative to certain Colonial Burial Fees which the Lieut: Colonel Eyre considers should not be charged against the estate of the late Lieut: Colonel Skerret.
His Excellency regrets that he cannot assent to the proposal of Lieut: Colonel Eyre conveyed in Captain Staveley's letter as Assistant Military Secretary.
