At the Magistracy: yesterday, a Chin ase was charged with being in unlawful possession of a revolver.
It was stated that defendant's luggage. was searched on the Canton wharf and the revolver was found tuncealed in a shoe. When questioned, the man stated that his brother, who was in Peru, badk sent a paral to his mother and this was handed to him (defendant) by a sailor. He did not know that it contained a re- volver.
