STR-It must be intensely disconcerting to churchmen and the Christian world to know of the Dean of Lincoln's' dis- belief in the Bible story of Eden and the Flood.
I have read with profourn regret the following report of the Dean of Lin- coln's confession of disbelief. at aniumbed discussion which took place in the Lower House of Convocation, on February 13th

It is such utterances, particularly from the mouth of a prominent churchman, which retard the work of God in this world, and which pause perplexity and confusion in men's minds. How can we prevent the Bible, from being openly at tacked and considered as a book nut to be uuted in a civilized society, after this?
