In pursuance of the Instructions of the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, I have caused Surveys to be taken on the 2nd of January, 1849, of the Funds remaining on the commencement of this year in custody of the Treasurer and the Officers in charge of the money deposited in the Strong Vault respectively, and having carefully examined the Report of the officer appointed by me to that duty, I hereby certify that I have found the results to be in strict accordance with the statement of the Balances as they are shown in this return.
