This friendly match was played, on Saturday, on the Civil Service ground, Batting first, the University were only able to compile 43, nearly half of which was contributed by J. D. Wright (21, not out). Ling and Edmonds shared the bowling honours for the Service club, securing 5 for 2 and 3 for 18 respectively
The Civil Service replied with a score 151, thus winning by the wide margin of 108 rana. A feature of the game was the vigorous innings of Ling, who retired with 53 to his credit, his scora including two sixes and eight fours Duncan scored, 24 by steady cricket, and Edmonds 22

These two branches of the Servicen met on the Navy ground in their first League match of the season. The Navý had a very strong team out and showed a great improvement upon last year's form, whilst the R.G.A were much weaker. It was soon evident, that the Sailors were superior both in speed and combination, goal being rushed through in quick time, for which the inside right was re- sponsible. This match was very late in starting, with the result that only 20 minuits were allowed for each half. It was very con- fusing throughout, both terms, wearing white shirts. Neither side was up to form, and, being a hot day, play was half hearted Kowloon certainly had the better of the exchanges in the first half, but failed to score. The second half was very tame, both sides missing splendid chances from good positions. The game ended in a pointless draw.
