ORIGINALLY when the BANK OF

called for Subscriptions towards the FOURTH YEAR DOMESTIC LOAN, Blank Forma of Receipt were sent throughout the Country for the sake of convenience. When payments for Bonda were, made the Receipts had to be Stamped in two places with the Bank Special. Receipt Chop and the Signature of the Bank Agano also affixed to the Receipt After the Sub- scription was closed it was found that certain blank Receipts marked "YING" () which had been given to the BANK OF CHINA, Kongmoon Agency, had not been returned, the Agent explaining that they had been LOST in Local Disturbances. We considered that as these Receipts Bore no Signature nor Chop they were no proof of payment and therefore we did not concern ourselves with them. Recently, after several years, it has been discovered that these Blank Forms have been sent to Peking, particulars of money filled in and presented to the Head Office of the Bank in application for Bonds.

We havo already notifed Merchants that these Receipts bad been LOST owing to Local Disturbances and we now again publish the facts in the Press for tho information and as ↑ warning 10 the Public.
