91. Nov. 17 Reporting expunction from the Rent roll of lots of land, the arrears due on which are entirely irrecoverable.

92. 18th Recommending repeal of Ordinance No 8 of 1844, for prohibiting the distillation of spirits within the Colony of Hongkong, in consequence of Mr. Stephenson's proposal to establish a distillery here, submitted in his Memorial to His Lordship, forming enclosure 7° 1 in Despatch No 45.89 of 15th Instant.

93. 24th Forwarding correspondence relative to a small piece of land applied for by Mr. Braise, as an addition to his present property, and recommending that it be made over to him at a reduced rate of rental.

94. 25 Reporting an affray in the harbour arising out of the resistance offered by the crews of two Junks to the Police, and transmitting proceedings of the Inquests held on the bodies of two Chinese and Policeman killed therein; with observations on the verdicts of the Jurors, and on the general merits of the case.

95. Nov. 27. Reporting the removal of the Civil Departments from the temporary Buildings on Government Hill to the Government Offices lately completed.

96. 27 Acknowledging receipt of His Lordship's Despatch No 57 of 21st September, relative to the Expenditure of the Colony, and deferring his reply thereto until the next Mail.

97. 297 Acknowledging receipt of Despatches No 75 to 79 of 21st September, 1848.

98. 30th Requesting that the last paragraph of Despatch No 89 of the 15th Instant may not be considered as correct until a further communication on the subject.

99. Dec. 15th Enclosing Memorandum explanatory of real loss of Revenue sustained by Government owing to the resumption, forfeiture, and reversion of Land Lots.
