With reference to my letter of the 10th inst., relative to the disposal of the balance remaining in the hands of the heirs of the late Mr. Rules, I am directed by the Governor to request your Lordship's authority for paying the amount in question to Mr. Z. Mitchell in liquidation of the funeral and other expenses which he states he has incurred on Mr. Mills' account upon his satisfying you thereof.
