There existed ups to March 1847. a vacation during the months of July August September & October. Previously to that time my Lord Hoy Lad upon the representation of Sir John Davis directed That an additional Criminal Sessions should be holden so that not more than three months should intervene between two Criminal Sessions.
Any
Pursuant to the directions of his Lordships it was agreed in Council That There should be a Criminal Sessions in July and again in October. But although this was all that the Council agreed upon & indeed the only matter that the Council was called upon to attend to Sir John Davis seized the opportunity of arranging under the Rule of Court the whole of the exceptions as to the sitting of the Judge at Chambers the attendance of The Officers at Court
