A official despatch from Egypt states: Our troops advanced on Tuesday to the northward of Wadi Ghuzze and captured the Turkish advanced positions on a six and a half miles front. The positions gained were consolidated.

MESOPOTAMIA. ANOTHER BRILLIANT BRITISH SUCCESS

LONDON, April 20th. An official despatch from Mesopotamia states that General Maude, on the night of April 17th-18th, forced a passage at Shatt-el-adhain, which was held by a de technicnt of the 18th Turkish army earps, General Maude says: We attacked, on Wednesday morning, the main position of this corps covering Istabulat Station, which is twelve miles to the south-east of Samarra on the right bank of the Tigris.

We completely routed the enemy, tak ing prisoner 27 ollicers and 1,217 men, and more are coming in. We also took considerable booty. Only the exhaustion of our horses prevented our capturing the enemy's guns.
