Board of Trade. L.E.

Hong Kong, and the applicants have been permitted to resign the Land of which they held Leases, on condition of paying up the arrears of rent then due.

It appears to us that a similar course should be pursued in the present case, and we would therefore submit that the Governor of Hong Kong should be authorized to allow the Holders of the four Lots now in question to resign them on their paying up the arrears of rent due up to the expiration of the last Midsummer Quarter.

We have the honor to be, Obedient Servant, The Marquess of Ripon, R. Rogers.
